Are you passionate about the future of the community and want young voices to be heard?

If your answer is ‘yes’, you’re invited to join the Emerging Civic Leaders Y-Vote program.

If you’re aged 18 to 24 and keen to make a positive impact on the future, you have the opportunity to join a three-month program running from September to November 2019.

The Emerging Civic Leaders program is run by the City of Sydney and youth empowerment organisation Y Vote.

The program is currently seeking young people passionate about leading social change. You need to show a commitment as an emerging civic leader and live, work or study in the City of Sydney area.

In the program, you’ll work with other young leaders on a Pledge to Vote campaign to ensure young voices are heard in upcoming elections. And you’ll develop valuable skills you can apply to work or study.

The program will run from 28 September to 8 November 2019.

Program commitment requirements include:

  • Saturday sessions on 28 September and 12 October
  • Fortnightly two-hour sessions on other days until 8 November 2019

The City of Sydney will sponsor six to 10 successful applicants for the late 2019 round.

Interested? Head to the City of Sydney Civic Leaders website. Applications close Tuesday 17 September.
