Dry Nights in Brisbane: Fun Things to do in Brisbane Without Alcohol

If you’re looking for fun things to do that don’t involve alcohol, don’t worry, Brisbane’s the right place to be!

Try some of these activities for a great night out.

Get close to nature

Camping under the stars and exploring night trails in Queensland’s beautiful national parks are an experience you’ll never forget. You can get campsite maps and other info from the Department of National Parks.

Crystal clear nights also lend themselves to stargazing. Try the Redcliffe Jetty or Lake Moogerah for the best views.

You can also watch the sunset (or sunrise) at one of Brisbane’s beautiful beaches OR, go for a cycle around Southbank.

Check out some sports

There’s always a match of something on. The sporting calendar is regularly packed out with rugby, cricket, tennis and more. Find out what’s on at Suncorp Stadium, and Brisbane Cricket Ground (the Gabba) or, catch some night tennis at the Brisbane International in January.

See live music, films and events

In the Summertime, you can see advance screenings, new releases and cult classics at  Brisbane’s Moonlight Cinema.  In September and November, enjoy some premium ice cream with your films at the Ben & Jerry’s OpenAir Cinema, located at the Rainforest Green, South Bank.  You can also be transported back in time at the Yatala drive-in theatre.

Brisbane’s live music scene is nothing short of legendary.  Find out who’s playing in the Concert and Gig Guide.

For theatre, dance and musical fans, there’s always something spectacular showing at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.  Or, for arts and theatre lovers on a budget, see what’s showing at  Brisbane Powerhouse Arts.

Do a little shopping…

On Friday and Saturday nights, The Eat Street Markets are open until 10pm.  And specialising in street food, live music and artisanal goods, the Boundary Street Markets, pop up every Friday and Saturday nights until 10pm.
