If you are struggling financially or are needing to access food, it is important to remember that free, confidential support is easily available, even if you are an international student.
Do you need help while quarantined or in isolation?
If you are in mandatory quarantine or in self-imposed lockdown because you:
- are infected with COVID-19
- have returned from interstate or overseas, or
- have come into contact with someone who is infected
and if you need:
- personal hardship assistance
- food relief, and/or
- short-term accommodation advice
you can call a new, dedicated relief hotline. The COVID-19 Relief Call Centre is available to provide advice and support every day between 8.00 am and 8.00 pm. Phone 1300 705 336
Are you not in quarantine but still need support?
The South Australian Department of Human Services Emergency Financial Assistance Program is a free confidential service for people experiencing financial difficulties anywhere across the state.
Eligible individuals, including international students, can receive food parcels, supermarket vouchers, referral to Foodbank SA or assistance with other cost of living concerns.
If you need help, it is as simple as finding your region from the list below and calling the number for that region.
