A Halal Guide to Hobart

Hobart is a city rich in cultural diversity, with a growing Muslim community. In fact, Tasmania’s Muslim population has increased by about 50% since the last census. The Hobart Mosque and Islamic Centre of Tasmania stand as key religious landmarks in the city.

As the Muslim community expands, so does the availability of halal food options. So if you eat Halal food, or are interested in trying, here are our top picks for the best halal food in Hobart!

Restaurants

Hobart has a great selection of Halal restaurants, particularly in and around the CBD. As well as the options listed here, you can also use Zabihahan app and website dedicated to providing a guide to Halal restaurants & markets.

It’s important to mention that some restaurants cook and serve exclusively Halal meat, while others may simply offer Halal options, so be sure to check with staff to be sure it caters to your needs. It’s also important to note some may also sell alcohol.
