Where to Find Brisbane’s Best Burger

There is no lack of burger joints in Brisbane, which can make it exceptionally hard to decide where to go when you’re craving a good hamburger – arguably, one of the most comforting foods you’ll ever find in a bun.

From unique plant-based burgers, to brioche buns sandwiching premium patties, to the greasy, loaded burgers that we all know are pretty bad for us, but just taste so good. Hungry yet? Well, our list of the best burger places in Brisbane is the perfect place to be!

Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co.

Betty’s Burgers and Concrete Co. is a classic 1950’s inspired burger bar that originated in beachy Noosa in 2014. Now, you can enjoy Betty’s in the Brisbane CBD (and a bunch of other locations across the country!).

The burgers are simple, but delicious. The ingredients they use at Betty’s are fresh, but minimal, meaning that each mouthful you take, you get a perfect bite of burger. There are plenty of vegetarian options and a vegan burger available. Or, you can try the Bare Betty, which is their Betty’s Classic but without the bun – instead, the burger is wrapped in lettuce.

If you’re looking for something to complement your meal, the fries and onion rings are cooked to perfection. Their thick shakes are also definitely worth a try, with delicious flavours like chocolate peanut butter and caramel.

Must order: The new Crispy Chicken with Avocado Smash – the avocado adds an extra layer of freshness to the burger.

Getta Burger

Oh goodness! That’s really all we can say. Have you ever felt that particular mix of excitement and fear when faced with a massive burger? With that amount of sauce, the burger not fitting properly in your mouth… There aren’t enough napkins in the world when you’re trying to eat one of these! You leave the table utterly filthy, but so happy. That’s Getta Burger.

We sampled the Getta Mr Mustard. It had a very juicy beef patty and tender smoked beef brisket, along with maple bacon, cheese, pickles, onions and mustard sauce. With so much going on, you might think the burger would be a little overwhelming. Well, you would be very mistaken. Everything worked incredibly well together.

The menu also includes a number of vegetarian and vegan options, or you can try out the BBQ melts, which the menu describes as “the ultimate toasties”.

Must order: Getta Mr Mustard and the pulled pork loaded fries (they’re outstanding!)

Fritzenberger

Super lively and with a great atmosphere, even during weeknights, Fritzenburger is a burger joint with a twist. They serve burgers on unique milk buns, have wildly original salt seasonings (think Vegemite, or roast chicken dinner salt), and offer incredible sides.

There’s a good selection of beers on tap and the burgers are consistently tasty – featuring a soft bun that is never soggy, fresh lettuce, a beautifully cooked patty, and sauce with a hint of sweetness. If you’re a fan of American-style burgers, then this is the one for you.

Must order: The perfectly cheesy and never dry mac and cheese balls. Also, upgrade your beef to the juicy wagyu beef patties!

Ze Pickle

Ze Pickle has quickly become a Queensland institution for many. They serve some of the tastiest and most creative burgers we’ve ever had.

The burger hits the table like a meat grenade. The maple bacon is like candy, and the melty, sticky cheese is like a comforting friend that keeps the group together and makes sure everyone gets home safely. The bun is perfect, and if you don’t know what a perfect burger bun is, then you haven’t had one yet. Despite the multiple locations across Queensland, don’t miss out on experiencing the retro vibe of Ze Pickle Fortitude Valley. To get to the burgers, follow the hidden sign, which points you down some dark steps. This place is definitely a hidden gem!

Must order:  The Southern Hick chicken burger, washed down with a salted caramel espresso martini.

Grassfed

Finding vegan cuisine in some countries can be a challenge. In Australia, it’s surprisingly easy, but after some time, the food options can become very monotonous. If you are vegan or vegetarian and have always wondered what a traditional Aussie burger would taste like (minus the meat), then Grassfed can make that dream come true.

Serving classic Aussie burgers with 100% plant-based substitutes, the team at Grassfed have put so much thought and passion into crafting their vegan burger menu. If you’re looking for vegan burgers in Brisbane, this is the place to go.

Don’t miss: There are fries, onion rings, or cauliflower side options – the buffalo cauliflower are our absolute ‘to die for’ must-eat!
