Problems can happen in every workplace from time to time, if they’re not resolved, they can make workplaces difficult for everyone.
Some workplace problems are easy to fix with just a simple conversation, others may take more time and effort. Either way, it’s best to try and resolve problems early before they disrupt work relationships and business.
Helping you resolve workplace issues
The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) has a workplace problems section to help you prevent workplace problems from happening and provide information about how to resolve problems in the workplace, including:
- knowing your rights and obligations
- step-by-step guides to resolving workplace issues including a link to the FWO’s free online course on ‘difficult conversations in the workplace’ and
- how you can get help from the FWO.
If something is wrong at work, or you know about a workplace that isn’t following the law, but don’t want to get involved directly, you can send the FWO an anonymous tip at www.fairwork.gov.au/tipoff.
