The answer to this will depend largely on which state or territory you live in.
Many grocery stores around the nation will be open on Anzac Day but with reduced operating hours. Many Coles and Woolworths locations will be opening later in the day (typically around 12pm or 1pm) to honour the Dawn Services that take place around the country. Are cafés open on Anzac Day?

Independently owned cafés may be closed entirely. If you’re hoping to head to your favourite local café, it’s best to call ahead or check their social media accounts to see if they will be open.
Are pubs open on Anzac Day?
Many pubs and restaurants will be open on Anzac Day, so you can grab a group of friends and enjoy a feed together.
However, it’s crucial to note that there are certain restrictions on the sale of alcohol on Anzac Day. Every state and territory handles this slightly differently. In Queensland, the cut-off for alcohol service stops at midnight, while it is between 3am and noon in Victoria.
In many places, any alcohol served from 10am until 12pm or 1pm (depending on the state or territory) must be served with a meal.
