Perth Upmarket

When: Sunday 15 September and Sunday 17 November

Where: Winthrop Hall, University of Western Australia

Entry: Free

Perth’s premier design market returns for two Sundays in September and November to bring together over 200 talented artists and craftspeople. Perth Upmarket aims to support local creative businesses and maintain a collaborative community for all of Perth to participate in. With so many food and drink options on offer, this is one day out you won’t want to miss. 

Cycling or walking to the market is encouraged and there are plenty of racks to lock up your bike. Buses are the best form of public transport for getting to the market; check out timetables here

Twilight Food Market 

When: Every Friday, 4 October—28 March

Where: Forrest Place

As the Perth spring weather returns, so too does the highly anticipated Twilight Food Market. Showcasing a diverse range of food at affordable prices, this is the perfect place for you and your friends to spend a balmy Friday evening. Help yourself to some cheap eats and take the opportunity to explore some hidden gems of the city.    

Quiz Night at The Nostalgia Box

Entry: $20 (includes museum tour, pizza, gameplay and quiz night)

Calling all gamers! The Nostalgia Box is hosting an epic quiz night over select Fridays in September and October. Your ticket includes a self-guided tour of the museum, pizza for you and your pals, a free run on all the games and consoles, as well as participation in quiz night. The event is also BYO (bring your own drinks) and there are some awesome prizes up for grabs. Put your biggest brains together and get quizzing! 

SHESpeaks Workshop 

When: Wednesday 9 October

Where: City of Perth Library

Entry: Free, bookings required

SHESpeaks is a project designed to empower women in Western Australia by promoting self-care and wellbeing. In October, they’re running a free interactive workshop that will provide you with the tools to make self-care achievable and meaningful. With the spring weather in full bloom, this is the perfect event in Perth to kickstart a healthy and mindful approach to living and studying abroad. 

The event runs from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. It’s free but bookings are required. There will also be some light refreshments served on the night.

Time · Rone at the Art Gallery of Western Australia

When: 6 September—31 October

Where: Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA)

Entry: $40.42 for students, tickets here

You’re being invited to step into an immersive experience by famed street artist Rone, exclusively at AGWA. Weave your way through 12 rooms full of haunting murals and installations that find beauty in a decaying mid-century setting. Supported by a unique, original soundscape by composer Nick Batterham, Spring 2024 in Perth is truly a feast for the senses.  

Parkrun Perth 

When: Every Saturday at 8.00am

Entry: Free

Spring into action on your Saturday morning with Parkrun! This is a free community event in Perth where you can walk, jog or run your way along a five-kilometre loop. The atmosphere is positive and welcoming, and with so many locations around the city, you’re bound to find one right near you. 

Registration is free and a great way to keep track of your progress. No pressure though! You’re welcome to show up and try it out incognito if that’s more your style.
