Cool Halloween Events Around Australia 2023

Halloween is just around the corner (October 31st to be exact), and while it might not be the biggest event on Australia’s calendar, there are always plenty of ways to have a scarily good time.

If you’re looking for an excuse to dress up and get your heart racing, here are some of the coolest events happening around Australia to celebrate the spooky season.

Sydney: Halloween at The Rocks

The Rocks is a neighbourhood of historic buildings tucked in the shadow of the Sydney harbour bridge – so naturally, it comes to life (or death) for the haunted weekend of Halloween. The Laneway Cinema will be screening films ranging from old-school cheesy classics to blood-curdling slashers – and there’s no need to book as the showings are free!

If you’re feeling more adventurous, take a ghost tour around the precinct. Tickets include a walking tour around The Rocks followed by creepy-themed croissants at Creperie Suzette. Make sure you keep an eye out for the Thriller Flash Mobs for some thrilling entertainment.

Melbourne: Luna Dark

From 27-31 October, Luna Park morphs into a Halloween haven. Daylight keeps it kid-friendly with playful spaces, but come nightfall, the spine-chilling fun begins. Dive into exhilarating rides, a ghostly train, and interact with roaming horror actors. Immerse yourself in the eerie Behind the Screams maze, confront sinister clowns and creepy dolls, or embark on the End of the Line train journey. Join the special All Hallows Eve festivity on October 31, and don’t miss the nightly adults-only CarnEvil party. Book now.

Adelaide: Fright Night Halloween Walk Through

Walk through Adelaide’s most haunting attraction from Friday 27 October to Tuesday 31 October. Navigate a chilling carnival maze, confront three spine-chilling haunt rooms, and meet our eerily immersive cast of actors.
