Study Melbourne Student Centre

The Study Melbourne Student Centre is located in the heart of Melbourne’s iconic laneways at 17 Hardware Lane. Multi-lingual staff can answer your questions about health, accommodation, student safety, work rights and managing your finances.

The centre offers plenty of useful spaces, student services, and opportunities to connect with other students. There’s loads of free events and workshop happening all year round.

Here are some of the other services the centre provides:

  • Study spaces and free wifi
  • Free legal advice about workplace rights
  • General information and help with accommodation, health, employment and legal problems
  • Support services in many languages
  • Free interpreting services
  • Crisis assistance (caseworkers available)
  • Free meet-up events and activities

The Study Melbourne Student Centre is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday at 17 Hardware Lane, Melbourne.

Free walking tours

Keen to explore your new city and understand its past? Study Melbourne offers free street art walking tours through Frankston, where you’ll learn about the artists behind the spectacular murals, and Melbourne’s coffee culture.

Unlock Melbourne app

Unlock all that Melbourne has to offer using the Unlock Melbourne app, which was created by Study Melbourne and designed specifically for international students arriving in the city. Study Melbourne LIVE

Explore, make friends, get involved in community activities, get workplace experience, become a leader. Study Melbourne’s LIVE (Lead. Intern. Volunteer. Experience.) initiative offers opportunities for all international students studying in Victoria.

If you want some assistance with finding a job or are seeking general employment advice, Study Melbourne offers work readiness workshops, online webinars, and one-to-one resume checking sessions — and they’re all completely free. Study Melbourne LIVE is the perfect way to complement your studies in Victoria while making new connections, friends, and skills that will last a lifetime.

The Victorian International Education Awards

At the end of each year, Study Melbourne runs the Victorian International Education Awards, which supports the international education sector. Their goal is to celebrate the valuable contributions international students make in Victoria.
